Why Your Logo is Important.

The Swoosh. The Starbucks Siren. The Apple… well Apple. What do all of these have in common? They're some of the most recognizable logos for some of the world's most recognizable companies.

The keyword is recognizable.

Products, businesses, logos, faces, and almost anything we choose to interact with daily are recognizable. We choose to interact with these items because recognition means comfort. Recognition means familiarity.

When we don't recognize something, we choose to avoid it.

A new funky-looking food might be the most delicious thing you'll ever taste, but what if it's too spicy? A new path may be the best view on the planet, but what if there are bears? A new business that just opened up in town may give you the best service for the best price, but if you don't know them, there are tons of "What If…'" s

We tend to play it safe. How is someone going to choose your business over the competition if they don't even recognize you?

Logos may seem to be pretty pictures that you slap on a business card and a t-shirt, but they're much more than that. Sure they do live on your business card and t-shirts, but they also need to work as a favicon, the little icon next to your URL in a web browser. We also need to consider how the colors are going to affect your target market. Have you ever seen an NFL team with a baby pink logo? How about a spa with a bright red and orange color scheme?

There are so many things to consider, so taking your logo/visual identity seriously from the jump is critical.

Your logo is important because it is the face of your business.
